11/O3/2023 ABAW X BURWOOD BRICKWORKS AUTUMN COMMUNITY MARKET

We are thrilled to share that the Autumn market at Burwood Brickworks was a resounding success! We are so grateful for the overwhelming support of the community, and we are especially pleased to see that everyone had a great time at the event.

We were particularly thrilled to see the excitement on the faces of the children who enjoyed the petting zoo. It’s moments like these that make community events so special and rewarding.

At ABAW, we strongly believe in the power of community economic development to drive sustainability and growth. Our goal is to create an environment that fosters strong community connections and sustainable practices, and we are delighted to see that the Autumn market was able to contribute to this vision. A big shout out to Burwood Brickworks for making this event possible.

The ABAW fundraising gala in 2023 was a huge success! Our sincere thanks go out to everyone who supported our worthy cause! As part of this year’s fundraising effort, we are supporting the Eastern Health Foundation and UNICEF’s Syrian/Turkish border earthquake emergency. Over thirty thousand dollars were raised in one night! That is an incredible accomplishment!

ABAW is delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with the Deakin University to organise this face-to-face networking event and is looking forward to building a deeper Deakin-ABAW partnership.

2022 年6月4日， Orion 天元集团端午节嘉年华在Box Hill Centre 成功举办。在冬日阴雨连绵的墨尔本，嘉年华当天难得迎来了一个日晴空。活动当日人声鼎沸，熙熙攘攘共有六十多个个商家参与其中：其中包括美食、媒体、银行、保险、地产公司等。这是疫情两年多来维洲华人社区举行的一次重大活动。Box Hill 也重回疫情前的热闹与繁华。

开幕仪式于正午12点准时举行，白马商会执行会长Bihong Wang 女士首先对参会嘉宾表示了欢迎，之后对此次农历新年庙会活动发表致辞。表示农历新年是全世界亚洲社区最大的文化庆典之一，具有反思过去，展望未来的文化意义和精神意义，也是与朋友、家人共度的美好时光。白马亚洲商业协会很荣幸能够作为此次活动的承办单位，继承传统、弘扬文化。

白马市市长Tina Liu,维洲州长Daniel Andrews以及反对党领袖Matthew Guy也应邀出席并用中文对广大华人致以节日的祝福与问候并且高度赞扬了华人对社区以及多元文化的贡献。此外工党MP for Chisholm Ms Carina Garland，Menzies自由党议员Mr Keith Wolahand，Ms Vivienne Nguyen， Box Hill 工党议员Mr Paul Hamer MP也致辞表达了端午节祝福。

在活动中心舞台上，精选的浓浓的中国味文艺演出从中文12点一直持续到晚间10点。令人激动振奋的传统舞龙表演亦是贯穿活动全天。

借此次嘉年华活动，我们不仅要在这节日中向澳洲政府传递我们华族的信息，华族是一个感恩的族群，滳水之恩，当湧泉相报。我们在此感谢州政府以及白马市政府对白马商会的支持。我们也对自己的祖国充满感激之情，祖国的强大，我们才能立足异国他地，借澳州白马商会举办端午节活动嘉年华之际，祝福中国，祝福澳洲，经历了疫情之后，相信2022年会更好，更上一层楼。
