The Asian Business Association of Whitehorse (ABAW) is delighted to announce the successful launch of the Whitehorse BizBoost Program on December 11, 2024. The Asian Business Association of Whitehorse (ABAW) is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated 2025 Box Hill Lunar Chinese New Year Festival, a celebration of culture, community, and the vibrant traditions of the Chinese New Year. The 2024 ABAW Moon Festival, proudly supported by our title sponsor Golden Age Group, reached new heights this year, attracting tens of thousands of attendees to the iconic Queen Victoria Market. The festival came alive with vibrant cultural performances, mouth-watering street food, and a lively atmosphere that embraced the spirit of community and tradition.

We were honored to have the support of our esteemed guests, whose presence added great significance to the celebrations. The Asian Business Association of Whitehorse (ABAW) takes immense pride in fostering this cultural event and creating a space for our community to come together and celebrate the beauty of the Moon Festival.

11/08/2024 ABAW Chinese Medicine Consultation Event

The ABAW Chinese Medicine Consultation event, hosted by the Asian Business Association of Whitehorse and co-hosted by Wencheng Lecture, concluded successfully on the 11th of August, at the Box Hill Townhall, Matsudo Room! We thank all the guests for their enthusiastic participation, and especially our Chinese medicine expert team for providing professional consultations and valuable health advice to all that attended.

Special thanks to Dr. Wencheng Wang, who led the team of seven Chinese medicine experts, as well as Mr. Keith Wolahan MP, Federal Member for Menzies, Consul Song Chongsheng from the Consulate General of the PRC in Melbourne, and Mr. Andrew Davenport, Deputy Mayor of Whitehorse City, for their presence and strong support.

On June 27, 2024, the Asian Business Association of Whitehorse hosted a dynamic networking event at the picturesque Box Hill Golf Club. Sponsored by Vantage Australia, the evening brought together over 70 professionals eager to explore the theme “Rate Cuts Ahead, Market Trends and Gold Insights.”

16/06/2024 – 17/06/2024 Welcoming of The Premier of State Council, the People’s Republic of China

Premier Li Qiang’s visit to Australia was eagerly anticipated by the Asian Business Association of Whitehorse (ABAW), who traveled from Melbourne to Canberra specifically to welcome the Chinese Premier.

Thousands of people lined up enthusiastically, creating a grand scene. The Melbourne Chinese Association and numerous Chinese community groups worked tirelessly behind the scenes and in the forefront, contributing silently to today’s spectacular welcoming ceremony. The ABAW team feels honored to participate and witness this historic moment.

We sincerely wish for closer relations between China and Australia, with flourishing bilateral trade and people-to-people exchanges. May the two countries work hand in hand for mutual cooperation and win-win outcomes, striving for even greater achievements!

21/05/2024 Visitation from New Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Melbourne, Mr Fang Xinwen

On May 21, 2024, the Asian Business Association of Whitehorse (ABAW) had the honor of welcoming Mr Fang Xinwen, the new Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Melbourne, at Box Hill Town Hall. During this productive meeting, Mr Fang praised ABAW for its outstanding contributions to cultural exchange, community service, and local economic growth.

ABAW President Ms Bihong Wang detailed the Association’s ongoing efforts to support the Chinese community and strengthen economic and cultural ties. Consul General Fang shared insights into China’s economic advancements and highlighted the significant role of China-Australia relations, particularly Victoria’s leading position in these collaborations.

ABAW extends a warm welcome to the members of the Shaoxing city council as they join us in Box Hill. ABAW is privileged to host the representatives of Whitehorse City’s sister city, Shaoxing City, as we unite to enhance the ties between China and Australia through trade and collaboration.

This visit is incredibly meaningful as we embark on a journey to uncover opportunities for economic exchange and partnership. By nurturing connections between our communities, our goal is to establish trade routes that will bring mutual benefit to both the City of Shaoxing and the City of Whitehorse, fueling growth and prosperity for all parties involved.
